Call for Papers: 
The deadline for paper submission is 23:59 (BST) Sunday, October 15, 2023.

The Bank of Italy, Baffi Centre (Bocconi University) and the Centre for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) invite submissions for the fourth biennial conference on ‘Financial Stability and Regulation’. The aim of the conference is to bring together leading world scholars and policy-makers to discuss topics related to financial stability, regulation of the financial sector and use of macroprudential policies. 

We seek to attract papers of the highest academic quality on topics that include, but are not limited to, the following ones:

  • Interaction between monetary, microprudential and macroprudential policies
  • Bank funding instability: deposit insurance, customer concentration and digitalization
  • Inflation, monetary policy tightening and financial stability
  • Regulatory responses in the financial sector to cyber risk
  • Financial stability risks from the development of fintech
  • Challenges owing to the impact of climate change
  • Empirical evidence on the effectiveness of financial sector regulation
  • Optimal design and the real effects of bank crises management
  • Assessment and calibration of macroprudential policies

The keynote speakers are Amit Seru (Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, NBER and CEPR) and Philip Strahan (Carroll School of Management, Boston College and NBER).

Papers should be submitted by Midnight (UK TIME) 15/10/2023. Authors will be notified by December 2023. The conference will start in the morning of Thursday, April 4th and will finish in the early afternoon of Friday, April 5th.

Economy class travel (subject to CEPR Travel guidelines found here) and accommodation expenses will be covered for invited academic speakers and discussants.
