To honour the memory of Philippe Martin, the Department of Economics of SciencesPo is creating an award in his name.

Perpetuating the commitment of Philippe Martin to help young researchers in international economics, the Philippe Martin Award rewards junior scholars for their high-quality research pushing the frontier in international trade, economic geography  or international macroeconomics/finance.

The first edition of this award will consist of a 5,000 euros prize for the best paper in international economics written by researchers at an early stage of their career (PhD students or PhD obtained after January 1st 2020), to be presented at the CEPR Paris Symposium 2024.

The selection of the laureate will be carried out by a scientific committee led by the Department of Economics at SciencesPo.

The prize will be awarded to a paper with authors consisting only of junior scholars with less than 5 years post-PhD. Papers written jointly with more senior researchers will not be considered.

The prize will be awarded at SciencesPo during the event organised in the memory of Philippe Martin on 12 December 2024.

Applications must be submitted by 30 June 2024, by filling the form via the CEPR HUB.
