Christian Merkl is Professor of Macroeconomics at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). In addition, he is Research Professor at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). He is Research Fellow at IZA and CESifo. His research publications cover monetary and fiscal policy, the macroeconomic implications of labour market reforms, and the interaction of macroeconomics with labour market institutions.
