Erik Hornung is a Professor of Economic History at the University of Cologne. He is a CEPR Research Affiliate, a CESifo Research Affiliate, and a Research Associate with CAGE at the University of Warwick. Before moving to Cologne, Erik Hornung was a Professor of Economics at the University of Bayreuth and held positions at the Max-Planck-Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich. He received his PhD from the LMU Munich in 2012. His research is focused on historical development, technological diffusion, human capital, and long-run growth.
