Evan Papageorgiou

Deputy Division Chief, Monetary and Capital Markets at International Monetary Fund

Evan Papageorgiou is a Deputy Division Chief in the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets department. He covers emerging markets and sustainable finance, and he is an author of the Global Financial Stability Report. Evan was previously in the European department of the IMF as the senior desk for Sweden and Denmark, covering the financial, fiscal, external and real sectors. Before joining the Fund, Evan was a strategist for Latin American local rates and FX at Goldman Sachs in New York, and a strategist for CEEMEA local markets at Citi in New York and London. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University, and an M.A. in Financial Mathematics from Columbia University.
