Gerd Muehlheusser

Professor of Economics at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences

Gerd Muehlheusser studied Economics at the University of Frankfurt, where he received a degree as Diplom-Volkswirt in 1998. From 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the Bonn Graduate School of Economics and the European Doctoral Programme (EDP), of which he spent the second year at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He completed his PhD in 2002, followed by a Jean Monnet Fellowship at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy). After holding positions at the Universities of Bern (Switzerland , 2003-2008) and Bielefeld (Germany, 2008-2011), he is currently a Professor of Economics at the University of Hamburg, Germany. His research interests include industrial organisation, organisational economics, law & economics, contracts, the economics of sports and environmental economics. His academic work has appeared in the Rand Journal of Economics, the European Economic Review and the Journal of Law, Economics & Organization, among others.
