Marcos Vera-Hernández is Professor of Economics at University College London, where he is also Academic Co-Director of the UCL Policy Lab. He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic and Policy Research as well as at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, Research Affiliate of the Stone Centre on Wealth Concentration, Inequality, and the Economy, Honorary Board Member of COSME (Spanish equivalent to Women in Economics), and a regular contributor to the economics blog site nadaesgratis.es. Marcos’ research focuses on the economics of health, particularly health insurance, health investments, and behaviour of health care providers. His work spans several countries, including China, Chile, Colombia, India, Jamaica, Malawi, Nepal, and Nigeria, as well as Spain, UK, and USA. Marcos obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona after studying in Madrid and Tenerife. In 2013, he was awarded the Royal Economic Society Prize.
