Nicolas Schutz is a Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim and a CEPR Research Fellow. He holds a PhD in Economics from Paris School of Economics and an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique. He is an applied theorist specialising in the fields of industrial organization, international trade, and microeconomic theory. His research interests include oligopoly theory (e.g., pricing and assortment decisions by multiproduct firms, pricing in production-in-advance industries), the economics of horizontal mergers (in both closed and open economies), as well as vertical integration and vertical restraints (e.g., exclusive dealing, dual pricing).
