Romain Ranciere is a Professor of Economics at USC. Professor Ranciere obtained his M.A. in Economics at Paris School of Economics in 1994 and his Ph.D. in Economics from the New York University in 2003. He does research on the links between financial development, financial crises and long run growth.
Recent papers include "Systemic Crises and Growth" (Quarterly Journal of Economics, 2008, with Aaron Tornell and Frank Westerman) and "Growth and Risk at the Industry Level: The Real Effects of Financial Liberalization" (Journal of Development Economics, 2008, with Andrei Levchenko and Mathias Thoenig).
