Tamon Asonuma is an Economist at the Strategy, Policy and Review Department of the International Monetary Fund since 2010. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University (completed in 2011) and an M.A. in Economics from Keio University (Tokyo Japan). His research focuses on macroeconomics, international finance and public finance. He is particularly interested in sovereign debt and financial crises, and exchange rate regime. He has authored or co-authored numerous books and journal articles in the areas of international finance.
