Shruthi Venkatesh is a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of health care and industrial organizations. Her work studies the effects of provider competition and incentives on health care prices and patient outcomes. In ongoing work, she is studying the effect of hospital-physician integration on physician referrals, hospital-insurer bargaining leverage, and hospital prices. She received her A.B. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
