COVID-19 in Developing Economies: What consequences can we anticipate and what effects can we mitigate?

The Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the International Development Policy Journal (DevPol) have published an e-book summarizing the early work on developing and emerging markets in a way that is accessible to non-specialized readers.

CEPR and DevPol will host a roundtable discussion around some of the key issues brought to light in the recently published e-book “COVID-19 in Developing Economies.” The panel will focus on the macroeconomic effects of the pandemic, as well as its effects on trade and on informality.

Panellist will include Swati Dhingra (LSE and CEPR), Caroline Freund (World Bank and CEPR), and Andres Velasco (LSE and CEPR) and the panel will be moderated by Ugo Panizza (The Graduate Institute and CEPR).
