A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique (1993), Xavier Ragot, CNRS Director and Professor at Sciences Po, Paris, is currently President of the French Economic Observatory (Observatoire Francais des Conjonctures Economiques, OFCE), an institute dedicated to economic research and forecasting. He completed a thesis at EHESS and a post-doc at MIT.
Ragot has also been senior economist at the Banque de France, chief economist at the Agency for Industrial Innovation and economic adviser of Ministry of Economics. He is member of the Council Economic Analysis of the Prime Minister. His research focuses on monetary and financial macroeconomy. He has published in French and international economic journals.
