Christoph Trebesch is a Professor of Economics at the University of Kiel and at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, where he heads the Research Area "International Finance and Macroeconomics" as well as the Kiel Initiative on Geopolitics and Economics. He is a Research Fellow of CEPR and CESifo and leads the CEPR RPN on International Lending and Sovereign Debt. In 2023 he won an ERC Consolidator Grant. His research focuses on international finance and international macroeconomics, economic history, and political economy.
