Luis Brandao Marques is a Deputy Chief in the Advanced Economies Unit of the European Department, where he works on the euro area. His research covers international finance and macro-financial issues. He has published in the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester.
